Black Friday – Shopping Online for Your Pet

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Black Friday is coming up next week and we at Canine Commuter want to give consumers a little advice to help ease their holiday shopping experiences.

Since many online retailers, like CanineCommuter.com, focus on specialty items, we advise you to shop early, and order early to ensure delivery for the holidays.  In most cases your item will ship within a business day or two – but other items may take longer.

We advise you to have your holiday order in no later than December 15th.  Many online companies operate on a drop-ship model.  That means that drop-ship warehouses act on their behalf to ship your product.  Unlike many companies, Canine Commuter maintains a relationship with our high-end manufacturers – we work with them to help make sure you receive your product in a timely manner.  In rare cases we’ve had a fulfillment issue when the manufacturer runs out of stock and doesn’t notify us.   Why am I telling you this…because I expect it to happen this holiday season.   Manufacturers have cut back on their stock due to the current credit crunch.  That carrier you may want – may very well be sold out for the year by December 5th.

At Canine Commuter, we offer Free Shipping on a good majority of our products.   That offer is for ground shipping throughout the Continental US.   So we ask that you plan accordingly.  We will work with you, when possible, to expedite shipping – but expedited shipping is expensive.  And in today’s economy, we’re trying to save you money.

I’ll get off my soapbox now and let you know that we are offering an additional savings of 10% for orders of $25.00 and over when you use the discount code of “CCFF10″  at checkout.   Canine Commuter works hard to bring you some of the best prices for the best quality pet travel products.  We screen products for quality, provide product reviews and excellent customer service – to help guarantee you an excellent online shopping experience.  If you have questions regarding a product you’re interested in…give us a call – before you buy.  That way you don’t risk a restocking fee or lose shipping costs.

We wish all of our customers a wonderful, safe holiday season.  So….Ready! Set! Shop! – You and your dog will be glad you did!

Standard Time…..not again!

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

MadisonYesterday we set the clocks back to standard time.  What crazy person came up with this idea??? !!!!  You dog people understand….

My dogs get fed twice daily.  Well, their internal clocks are set for daylight saving time…and now with each movement this afternoon – they run to their bowls – eagerly anticipating dinner.

Madison lays by her empty bowl (with 1 hour to go before dinner) and wimpers like she’s lost her last friend.  Poor baby….

Maggie walks over and hits me with her paw (yes…she hits me) to gently remind me that I’m late with her dinner.   (Ouch!)

Spencer could care less…he’s asleep in his chair.  But I know when I get the food bowls out…he’s right there twirling away in eager anticipation of his dinner.

So…it will take several weeks before they settle into their new schedule.  They’ll get me up an hour early every morning (it wouldn’t be so bad…but now they’ll wake me up at 4:00 am!) and then we’ll have to repeat it all over again when daylight saving time kicks in next summer.

Whooo hooo…..I can’t wait.
